Guest List Starter
Your guest list affects venue, food, budget, seating, invitations, parking, favors and the atmosphere of the event.
Start with names, not a guessed number. Build the list household by household or person by person, and note children, plus-ones and anyone whose attendance is uncertain.
A simple three-group method
- A - Must Invite
- B - Would Love to Include
- C - If Capacity Allows
This is a planning tool, not a ranking of how much people matter.
Did You Think of This?
Count people, not invitations. One envelope may represent two, four or six guests.
Decide intentionally whether children are included, how plus-ones work, whether coworkers are invited, and whether there are guests who may not be comfortable attending together.
Make It Easier
Keep one master guest list as the source of truth. Multiple versions in texts, notebooks and spreadsheets create mistakes.
