Ask About Climate Control Before You Book the Venue
A beautiful venue can still be missing something you assumed was standard.
A venue can look perfect, feel well-appointed and work beautifully for one season - and still create a problem in another.
At one family event, a beautiful venue worked wonderfully for a March bridal shower. When the same space was used for an August baby shower, the setup day revealed something nobody had thought to ask about: the venue had no air conditioning.
The lesson is simple: do not ask only, “Do you have heat and air conditioning?” Ask, “How is this space heated and cooled during the month of my event?”
Ask directly about
- How the room is heated and cooled
- Whether climate control reaches the entire guest space
- Whether conditions change by season
- Fans or portable cooling options
- What happens during extreme heat or cold
- Weather backup for outdoor areas
- Restrooms and guest spaces that may not be climate controlled
- Whether climate control is already running during setup
Thoughtful Touch
Think about older relatives, young children, pregnant guests, and anyone with health or mobility concerns. Comfort isn’t an extravagant event detail. It’s hospitality.
