What About the Baby Shower Gifts That Arrive Before the Party?
Modern registries changed how gifts arrive. Your gift display can change too.
Many guests now ship registry gifts directly to the parents-to-be before the shower. That is convenient - but it can make the gift table at the event look like only part of the story.
At one baby shower, a photo collage of the gifts that had already been shipped was displayed near the in-person gift opening. It acknowledged gifts from guests who sent them early and from people who could not attend, while helping everyone see the full generosity surrounding the shower.
Thoughtful Touch
A simple heading can make the display feel warm instead of transactional: “Baby is already so loved.” or “A few sweet things waiting at home for Baby.”
There is no single right way to handle gift opening. Some showers open everything publicly; some display gifts; some open only in-person gifts; some skip a public opening entirely. The important thing is to decide intentionally.
Did You Think of This?
If many gifts are shipped ahead, what will gift opening actually look like in the room? And how will you acknowledge the people who sent something but could not be there?
